The Global Data Barometer is a multi-dimensional and multi-layered study that assessed the state of data for public good in 109 countries. An expert survey was conducted from May 2019 – May 2021 to create a new global benchmark that looks at data governance, capability, availability, and use and impact of data for public good. You may explore and view the data, through its core or thematic modules as well as on a country-level.
The Barometer aims to answer “To what extent are countries managing data for the public good?” by incorporating quantitative and qualitative measures, drawing on primary data collected through a survey implemented by our international network of partners and researchers, as well as data from existing secondary sources, and a complementary government survey.
