The <A+> Alliance led by Code for Africa (CfA) and Women at the Table is hiring for a full-time Chief of Party in sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, or the Levant on our AI Sandbox team.
<A+> Alliance will lead a consortium of feminist civil society organisations on a project combating technology-facilitated gender-based violence (tfGBV) in Africa and the Middle East. The initiative will empower local partners across Africa and the MENA region to more effectively confront tfGBV, by identifying and equipping indigenous feminist activists with the skills needed to develop and deploy innovative, technology-driven solutions to more effectively combat tfGBV and disrupt the digital ecosystems where perpetrators thrive.
The successful candidate will join the AI Sandbox team managed by Code for Africa. This team provides technical support, infrastructure, and mentorship to grassroots organisations and human rights defenders, enabling them to develop, test, and deploy AI-driven solutions for digital rights challenges such as technology-facilitated gender-based violence (tfGBV). The team is responsible for building and maintaining the secure AI environment, supporting data analysis and digital security.
The Chief of Party will initially take the lead on a three to four-year, multimillion-dollar programme in Africa and the Middle East focused on combating technology-facilitated gender-based violence (tfGBV). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in feminist advocacy, have worked extensively in Africa and/or Middle East, be fluent in French and English, and have experience leading large multi-national teams and complex, multi-year projects.

- Strong programme management experience
- Extensive experience working in sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, or the Levant;
- A strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation and learning
- Demonstrated experience working with AI, databases, and new digital technology
- Demonstrated analytic, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A collaborative, culturally sensitive approach to multinational teamwork
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

- Familiarity with feminist advocacy, activist training, and technology-driven programme delivery.
- Knowledge/experience in AI tools and prompt-engineering
- Knowledge of information disorder (misinformation, disinformation, mal-information) and/or online conspiracist or hate speech content.
- Experience with collaborative tools like Slack, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and Airtable.
Language and Location Requirements:
- Location: must reside in sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, or the Levant. Please note that CfA is not able to sponsor work visas or cover relocation expenses, so the ideal candidate will already be living in the region and have the appropriate work permissions.
- Languages: English and French required; Arabic will be advantageous
