[email protected] is a growing, global CSO based in Geneva, Switzerland - and the first organization to focus on systems change by helping feminists gain influence in sectors that have key structural impact: economy, democracy and governance, technology and sustainability. [email protected]’s take on the Smart Feminist City 3.0 led to the formation of the A+ Alliance: Affirmative Action for Algorithms, the international coalition that seeks to not only detect, but correct, gender bias in Artificial Intelligence. After all, as Marshall McLuhan famously stated, ‘We shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us’. We have to consciously create the world we wish to live in.
We are an inclusive, feminist organization that fights for social justice and the transformation of democracies in Latin America. With 10 years of experience in 14 countries, we research about the obstacles that impede citizen empowerment and apply our findings creating technological tools that keep authorities accountable, bring communities closer to their governments, fight against corruption, strengthen the work of activists, and boost impact in public policies. We are an international and multidisciplinary team that connects professionals from Design, Engineering, Social Sciences, Journalism, Biology and Literature to create projects that allow us to break limits and move towards collective and participatory decision-making. We work from our offices in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Santiago (Chile).
