Come hear all about the Call for Proposals for multi-disciplinary teams from the Global South to explore new models of AI. Dr. Nuria Oliver will take us through a landscape of the current state of AI and the need to look for new models. You’ll get a sneak peek at our Feminist AI pubpub site, and opinion pieces from the upcoming From Bias to Feminist AI publication!
We will:
- hear a Landscape from Nuria Oliver Advisory Board member one week before she receives the Abbie. Anita B award for technical Leadership
- share the Call for Proposals
calling for New Models, New Ways of conceiving AI that correct for historic inequities, and bring social programs & policy fit for the 21st century. (For which we need your help applying if you are based in the Global South, and disseminating from all points.) - get a sneak peek at the long awaited PubPub of the fr network conversations and research on our Feminist AI PubPub site. All community members are credited as authors. Some of you wrote pieces that are included in this first community publication.
