Team: Fundación Datos Protegidos and Observatorio de Estadísticas de Género e Interseccionalidades, Chile
In order to influence the debate and the public agenda in Chile, the SOF+IA team aims to galvanize a community that helps women identify, respond and act to address technology facilitated gender based violence (tfGBV).
SOF+IA supported with Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a chatbot that is able to dialogue and address situations of violence and digital harassment that women, of any age, often experience when expressing themselves, giving opinions or when uploading content on digital social media platforms. SOF+IA uses feminist principles to put the needs and contexts of women - exercising their rights to freedom of expression and opinion on social networking platforms- at the core of the app.
SOF+IA, developed as a prototype through published evidence-based research funded through F<A+i>r, will be transitioning to its final pilot stage over the next six months. The prototype is particularly centered on women with public voices: young university women, women activists, journalists and leaders as well as women union leaders in Chile who are most often the survivors of tfGBV harassment.
The objective of the new pilot cycle is to advance conversational flow and iteration between the chatbot and its women users for different scenarios and tfGBV use cases. The pilot will be tested with at least three groups of users to evaluate and improve the interaction of SOF+IA in real life scenarios.
