The Feminist AI Research Network is dedicated to thinking about and creating the future we want to see.
In discussion through our global network, through our Hubs in Latin America & the Caribbean, Middle East & North Africa, and South East Asia, through our Incubating Feminist AI project with its paper to prototype to pilot methodology, we are exploring new models and new ways of conceiving AI that correct for historic inequities and bring pro-social programs and policy fit for the 21st century. F<a+i>r looks beyond ‘leaving no one behind’ to a world where we bring everyone forward, and the creativity and brilliance of the world’s largest untapped intellectual resources are enabled to influence, design and build worlds that we all deserve to live in.

The A+ Alliance funded paper, prototype, and current pilot, E.D.I.A. has been selected as one of five funded projects in Mozilla’s Data Futures Lab 2024 Infrastructure Fund Award which celebrates groundbreaking research and supports projects committed to open source and the creation of trustworthy data economies.
We are so excited to be moving to cohort 4 of the Feminist AI Framework projects, which includes papers, prototypes and pilots that emanate from applied research funded by the IDRC. Cohort 4 is made up of a combination of 4 successful papers that will be moving to the prototype stage, 4 prototypes transitioning to the pilot phase and 2 new paper/research projects.
