The <A+> Alliance is extremely proud to be a founding member with GIZ, IDRC, UNESCO, Mozilla, Radiant Earth, and Makerere University of Open for Good - Inclusive AI Commons with Localized Data
featuring a discussion on
How to create unbiased and representative language and satellite training datasets for artificial intelligence (AI)?
Wednesday, 25 November, 3pm-5pm CET/WAT/UCT+1
We are very excited to launch Open for Good – Inclusive AI Commons with Localized Data together with the Alliance for Inclusive Algorithms, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, IDRC, the GIZ initiative “FAIR Forward – Artificial Intelligence for All”, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Makerere University, Mozilla Foundation, Radiant Earth and UNESCO.
We are an alliance with a shared commitment to openly-available non-discriminatory training data for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in Africa, Asia and beyond. We strive for the creation of more localized AI to improve public services, strengthen private sector development and ultimately to foster sustainable human development.
We cordially invite you to our launch, which will take place online on Wednesday, 25 November, from 3pm to 5pm CET/WAT/UCT+1.
During the event, we would like to discuss with you
why openly accessible and localized training datasets are important
what to do to create and maintain the datasets and
how to create unbiased and representative language and satellite training datasets for artificial intelligence (AI)?
We are eager to get your perspective on the crucial issues that are needed to be tackled in order to achieve this.
We are looking forward to your input and to launching Open for Good with you!
